Artist and activist Zoe Buckman’s work has been in the spotlight lately, from 21c Cincinnati to Art Basel Miami Beach and The New York Times, which published an article about the upcoming public installation of her sculpture, Champ, commissioned by the Art Production Fund. In this video interview with 21c, the artist discusses her works in the current 21c exhibition, The Future is Female, resisting the patriarchy, and why she loves boxing. Buckman’s combination of traditionally feminine materials with boxing gloves is both an assertion of feminist power and an invitation to join the fight.
