White River Julep
The White River Julep was inspired by a favorite summer past-time of Arkansas natives; floating down the White River. This leisurely task requires simply a flotation device and a cold, refreshing beverage. The Hive wanted to use a base spirit that was truly an Arkansas product and that’s why Rock Town’s Arkansas White Lightning was chosen. To round out the rough edges of the unaged whiskey, a splash of Cocchi Americano, which is an aperitif that brings flavors of melon and honeysuckle, was brought into the mix. The traditional mint was replaced for the uplifting, clean flavor of the herb lemon verbena. The goal was to create a refreshingly smooth spirit forward libation with crisp, floral notes perfect for a warm day floating down the river
