Cheers to Bourbon Heritage Month!

Kevin is a play on a cold Irish coffee, featuring cold brew and bourbon from our 21c Private Barrel Selects program. This booze-forward cocktail will surprise you with a smooth nutty flavor profile and hint of spice. We recommend sipping all month long, but beware this cocktail packs a mean caffeinated punch.

1.5 oz 21c Selects Woodford Reserve 2018

1.5 oz Cold Brew Concentrate

¾ oz Pecan Orgeat

¾ oz Cardamaro Whipped Cream

Shake all ingredients except for cream and double strain into a Glencairn. Top with the whipped cream and garnish with coffee beans. 

 

About the Bourbon

Appearance: Amber with Copper highlights.

Nose: Vanilla, dried cherry, poached pear and candied pecan.

Taste: Well rounded and smooth with hints of brown sugar, maple syrup, spiced baked pear and apple.

Finish: Pleasantly warm, toasty finish with cinnamon.

From start to finish, this bourbon is easy on the palate and mellow throughout. Pro tip: A typical batch of Woodford Reserve is 120 barrels and this particular selection is from a 2-barrel batch. Cardamom Whipped Cream

8 oz Heavy Whipping Cream

1 oz Simple Syrup

1 oz Cardamaro

6 dashes Orange Bitters

6 Dashes Cardamom Bitters

 

Pecan Orgeat

32 oz whole pecans

6 cups white sugar

5 cups water

5 ml orange flower water

5 ml rose water

4 g kosher salt

Toast pecans for 5 minutes at 300F. Pulse process into small pieces (not powder). Bring sugar and water to a boil and add pecans. Let sit overnight and strain.
