This NYE celebration will include drag performances by Stevie Dicks and Zsa Zsa Gabortion, and spins by Ghouligan and DJ Bombshell. There will also be light snacks provided Proof on Main, an open bar by Michter’s Whiskeys, and champagne toasts by Laurent-Perrier.

Grab your drink of choice at Proof on Main (named Wine Enthusiast’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants, btw), and explore 21c Louisville’s current exhibition Dress Up, Speak Up: Costume and Confrontation. Be sure catch the special exhibition in Gallery 5, The Other South: Photographs by Laura Lee Brown. Featuring photographs from the 21c co-founder’s journey to Antarctica last winter, the exhibition is simply breathtaking.
After browsing the art at 21c, walk down Main Street to Frazier History Museum. Now the official starting point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Frazier’s current exhibition The Spirit of Kentucky provides an in-depth look at the history of bourbon whiskey.
Pro Tip: Downtown distillers will be closed on New Year’s Day. Kentucky Peerless, Angel’s Envy, and Evan Williams will all be open on New Year’s Eve and are worth a visit.
Food more your thing?
Indulge in local flavor at Proof on Main for dinner on New Year’s Eve or brunch New Year’s Day as they will have special dishes for the occasion. If you want to venture off Main Street, we recommend checking out Garage Bar in Nulu for brunch on New Year’s Day. Typically only open for brunch on the weekends, this Tuesday treat will surely start your new year off right.
