We’ve finally made it – emerging from the winter chill and into a new growing season where chef Matthew McClure has stumbled upon a strawberry smorgasbord. The Hive has recently come into bushels of fresh, local strawberries, the first fruit of the growing season and a sure sign that Spring is here. And where there are abundant strawberries there is the promise warmer weather still to come, which means easy summer living is soon upon us! Here in Arkansas the fairly dry season we’ve had so far is yielding some pretty intensely flavored fruit that requires a little bit of heat to sweeten things up. Luckily, chef McClure has come up with a few dishes embracing this season’s strawberry overload. You’ll find strawberries accompanying dishes like the Grilled Quail and the Mascarpone Cheese Cake (we cannot get enough!)
