At the event, Szivos will discuss his inspiration and process behind his work. Event is free and open to the public.
Michael Szivos is an architect and the founder of SOFTlab, a New York City-based design studio that has produced projects is almost every medium, from digitally fabricated large-scale sculpture to interactive design to immersive video installations. Spectralline, a site specific work at 21c Lexington, is inspired by the ordered asymmetry of crystals. The immersive installation looks different from every angle, inviting viewers to walk around and interact from all sides. Szivos will speak about SOFTlab’s work at 21c Lexington and other projects and collaborations across the country.
After finishing his Masters of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in 2004, Michael Szivos founded the NYC based design studio SOFTlab. He is also an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute and teaches graduate design studio at Yale University.
