Spending the Holidays in Kansas City

Your guide to all the Holiday cheer KC has to offer!

Festive lights and holiday delights! Whether you’re visiting or staying close to home for the Holidays, Kansas City is the perfect place to find Holiday cheer for the whole family. Follow the guide below to experience the best that KC has to offer!

It’s a Christmas miracle! No, really! The Miracle Christmas Pop-Up Bar has landed in Kansas City one again – this time in 3 locations! Bonus – this year they’re accepting walk-ins! So during you’re stay at 21c, just pop down  to the Power & Light District at 1323 Walnut Street to sip on seasonal cocktails and soak up the endless Holiday Cheer.

The Plaza Lights, Kansas City’s most famous Holiday light display, will kick off on Thanksgiving Day and be up through January 9th, 2022. Shop, stroll, grab a hot chocolate and enjoy the 92nd annual KC tradition!

Each Holiday season, Crown Center transforms into a winter wonderland complete with lights galore, ice skating, a 100-foot Christmas tree, plenty of Christmas shopping and – rumor has it – Santa himself will be making appearances!

Feeling jazzy? The 18th and Vine Jazz District’s Soul of Santa Christmas celebration kicks off on December 3rd at 6pm. Follow along for the whole month of December for the Soul of Santa Toy Giveaway, a community breakfast, and musical performances by Kansas City’s best!

It isn’t Christmas in Kansas City without soaking up the endless Holiday cheer at Union Station. Enjoy Holiday movie classics throughout the month of December, take your kiddo on a Holiday train ride, or take a stroll through Holiday Reflections, Union Station’s interactive walk thru Holiday village.

The Kansas City Ballet is back again this year with performances of The Nutcracker. “Let your wonder ignite and feel the glimmer once more as your childhood dreams return and inspire you to IMAGINE AGAIN.” Buy your tickets here.
