We are thrilled to welcome you back to travel! As you prepare to hit the road for your next adventure, you’ll find the world a little different from what you remember, but don’t worry, we’ve put together a list of our favorite local spots to help ease all of your planning woes. Here’s our guide to the Kansas City community for your upcoming visit…
Start your day with Mildred’s only two blocks from the hotel that has “The Best Breakfast Sandwich in the City”. Have a sweet tooth in the morning? Try a pastry from Banksia or go a healthy route with avocado toast and juice from Ruby Jean’s Juicery.
Now it is time to explore Kansas City! Don’t forget a mask as some places may require that you have one. From shopping at Country Club Plaza to hanging out in the Power & Light District there is always some fun happening around town. Looking for an outdoor adventure? About 25 minutes outside of downtown is Shawnee Mission Park– there are boat rentals and a beach (advanced reservations are currently required), mountain bike trails, disc golf, a dog park, and more! If you are wanting to stay closer to downtown, Berkley Riverfront Heritage Trail has both pedestrian and bike lanes.
Worked up an appetite? It wouldn’t be a weekend in Kansas City without having BBQ- we suggest Gates BBQ, Jones BBQ, or Joes. If you are ready to treat yourself, Bristol Seafood and Steak is less than a mile from the hotel. Also, just one block from the hotel is The Phoenix a historic jazz bar/ speakeasy. Head over to Yardhouse and find the largest selection of draft beer and elevated bar food. Grab a few snacks and taste local beers at Boulevard Brewery. Beer, not your thing? Amigoni Urban Winery may be more of your style with $8 tastings.
We are so excited to have you in Kansas City. Have any other questions? Our teammates are experts on our community so give us a call at 816.443.4200 if you have any questions when planning your stay!
