How to Spend the Holidays in Cincinnati

Your guide to spending the holidays in the Queen City this year

You don’t have to go far, to holiday well. Stay close to home this holiday season and enjoy the best the Queen City in December has to offer!

Searching for the perfect tree? Make lasting memories with the family and cut down your own tree at Berninger Christmas Trees & Wreaths, Corsi Tree Farm or Big Tree Plantation. Not a Griswold kind of family? Let someone else do the work and pick up a tree at Burger Farm.

What would the holidays be without the lights? Experience Winter Wonderland at the Cincinnati Zoo’s Festival of Lights (open Nov 23 thru Dec 23; reservations required). Or take a ride through the 2-mile light show display at Coney Island’s Christmas Nights of Light (open Nov 6 – Jan 9).

From holiday scavenger hunts and Northern Lights displays to tiny, wintery LEGO villages of whimsy and the mini model train metropolis of The Duke Energy Holiday Trains, Cincinnati Museum Center’s Holiday Junction is filled with holiday magic for the whole family. After, visit Scuba Santa and his sea creature neighbors at the Newport Aquarium’s Water Wonderland. At night, lace up your skates and show off your moves at the Fountain Square ice skating rink. When you’re done, warm up with a cup of cocoa from Graeter’s – we know their specialty is ice cream, but trust us, they know a thing or two about hot chocolate too!
