Recipe: The Lieutenant

Cheers to Bourbon Heritage Month!

The Lieutenant is a light and refreshing bourbon cocktail, which pairs hints of bright, citrus fruit and smooth, toasted oak.

 

The Lieutenant

2 oz. Old Forester Signature

1 oz. Domaine de Canton

3 dashes Orange bitters

Rinse a rocks glass with Green Chartreuse. In a mixing glass combine Old Forester, Domaine de Canton and Orange bitters. Add ice and stir. Strain in rocks glass and garnish with lemon. 

 

About the Bourbon

100 Proof

Appearance: Deep copper

Nose: Sweet coffee and creamy butterscotch with a hint of licorice.

Taste: Rich, bold flavors of toasted oak and spice with ripe apple for a lighter mouthfeel.

Finish: Light and sweet with hints of oak and apple.

Fun fact: Old Forester is noted as one of the few whiskeys allowed to be sold during the Prohibition era for medicinal purposes.
