21c: How did you meet?

W&D: We met on Match.com… our first date was at a coffee shop on a Sunday afternoon. We closed the place down.

21c: What were you looking for in a venue? How did you know you found the one?

W&D: We wanted something small and different. We’re both over 50, so we knew we would have a small guest list of just our closest friends and family. When we saw how beautiful the two galleries were, we were sure we’d found the right place.

21c: If you could channel some magic penguin-godmother magic and relive your favorite moment from your wedding day, what would it be?

W&D: So many wonderful memories from that day – but one of the things we laugh most about was the collection of 5 or 6 penguins outside our hotel room when we returned after the reception. They were sprawled all over the place, as if they had had a bit too much to drink at our party!

21c: What are people still talking about from your wedding?

W&D: How special and intimate it was. A friend married us, several other friends did the toast, another sang to our first dance. It was really a big tub of love.

21c: What was the dreamiest dish from your reception?

W&D: We were both too nervous to eat – but we heard the food was delicious.

21c: How did your wedding reflect who you are as a couple?

W&D: Every bit of our wedding was designed to reflect us – the music choices, our vows, the flowers, the food. We really just wanted to have a great cocktail party that also happened to be our wedding.

21c: Do you have any tips for grooms-to-be to make their day as stress-free as possible?

W&D: Have a friend help run the day. Our friend Angela married us, and she also helped move people from one gallery to another, and keep things on schedule.
