We haven’t been able to travel safely in the past year, so we wanted to create an experience centered around what we love most about traveling–food and wine–and bring it to you in Nashville.
This month, we whisk you away to Beaujolais, a region just south of Burgundy in France. And we. Are. Thrilled. This dinner will show off Wine Director Matias Yerrick’s four favorite Crus of Beaujolais. Four crus, four courses.
Beaujolais is famous for its vibrant, fruity red wines made from Gamay. The widespread planting of Gamay makes Beaujolais one of the few regions in the world to be so intently focused on a single grape varietal.
Grown on the region’s granite slopes, the Gamay imparts a fresh, directly fruity yet mineral character to the wines. Cru level wines deliver luscious fruit, exciting acidity, and with some Crus—an unexpected power. Beaujolais delivers something different year to year, region to region, bottle to bottle.
