Please join us at 21c Louisville on May 16^th at 6pm for a gallery talk & reception celebrating the exhibition What is Past is Prologue. We will begin the evening with a conversation featuring two of the exhibition artists, Stan Squirewell and Tariku Shiferaw, along with Alice Gray Stites, 21c Museum Director and Chief Curator, and Michael Hurst, 21c Cincinnati Museum Manager. Following the program, we will celebrate the exhibition with the artists at a reception featuring light bites from Proof on Main and a cash bar.

What is Past is Prologue was curated for the Elevate program at 21c Cincinnati before opening in Gallery 3 at 21c Louisville. The exhibition is rooted in the friendship between six artists and the conversations that arise through their art-making practices. All of the artists, based in or born on the east coast, use art to address the past, present, and future through a historical lens. Artists are often the best teachers of history and they serve as viable sources to imagine the future.
