As part of our commitment to making contemporary art a part of daily life, 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati is partnering with Visionaries and Voices to present free monthly art classes in the gallery spaces at 21c.

February’s V+V@21c class will feature teaching artist Curtis Davis. Step into the daily routine of Curtis Davis, who nourishes and works with his sculptures daily. Participants at this one-of-a-kind lesson will start by looking through a humble heap of items and choosing those that resonate. After assembling those random parts into a small sculpture, take it home and do something new to it every day/week/month. If you were Curtis, you might fully submerge it into a new color of paint every day and watch it’s entombment and size advance. You, however, may choose to add one single Sharpie hashmark a day, or to put it outside each time it rains. Whatever you choose to do with it, track and share its (and your) progress.
