In 2018, we took our guests on a journey through the lush, secret, art-filled gardens replete with mysterious wonders. As the haunting season draws near again, the curious who dare to delve deeper into the strange garden will see things aren’t always exactly as they seem.
Our party guests will be taken back to the summer of 1985 and get lost in the Stranger Things’ zeitgeist during 21c’s Secret Garden Redux: The Upside Down.
The event will feature dj’s Northside Nick and Pxvce spinning in the main gallery with projections provided by vj Jacqueline C. Wood to set the mood. Performances by Heroes Rise and Dancefix will bring the dance floor wherever they are, whether that be the sidewalk or the Ballroom, emulating popular dance crazes of the mid 80’s.
No costume? No problem: The best of the Queen City’s makeup professionals will be decorating guests’ faces with any finishing touches they might desire, free of charge. But costumes are highly encouraged because a gaggle of judges will be roaming the floor offering prizes, including a one night stay at 21c Cincinnati or dinner at Metropole.
Our second floor bars (cash and card) will offer a spooky seasonal cocktail. And although Halloween is a day when individuals are free to be who they please, they still must be 21 to gain access to what the secret garden holds. The event is FREE, but there is a suggested donation of $10. This optional donation will benefit our event partners, the ACLU of Ohio as well as the Art Academy of Cincinnati, who’s students will be helping create and install the garden decorations in collaboration with local art star Pam Kravetz and her crew as they create the otherworldly ambiance in the 2nd floor galleries.
