21café

January 15, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free and open to the public

Gather ’round for a casual evening of conversation, cocktails and contemporary art. Whether you’re a budding young arts patron or just looking for a relaxed evening of culture, 21café welcomes all  and is free and open to the public. The evening will begin in The HiveLounge Gallery where guests are welcome to grab a libation followed by a tour with Museum Manager Dayton Castelman. Conversation and dialogue are encouraged!

January’s event will feature an artist lecture with Emily Chase.
About the artist: Emily Chase’s artwork has been exhibited in New York, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Tennessee, including a solo show of her work at Living Arts Tulsa in 2015. She is a Windgate Fellowship recipient, has been awarded residencies at Penland School of Craft and St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and has travelled extensively in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Born in New York and having lived in New Mexico and Oklahoma, she is currently based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where she received her BFA in Painting from the University of Arkansas. Her recent work focuses on paper as a sculptural media, using it to explore her continuing interest in narrative, as well as the relationships between clothing and identity.
