About the Exhibition

Elevate at 21c presents temporary exhibitions of works by artists living and working in the communities surrounding Kansas City. Elevate provides hotel guests and visitors with unique access to the work of notable regional artists while featuring their work in the context of 21c’s contemporary art space.

Brittany Noriega explores themes of identity, memory, trauma, and healing. She is drawn to the ways in which our experiences shape who we are and how we perceive the world around us. Noriega’s work reflects the deep emotional and psychological processes that we all go through as human beings and seeks to bring those processes to a visual representation.

In addition to Noriega’s art practice, she is the creator of Core, a local art zine that showcases the work of creators in the Kansas City area. Through Core, she hopes to promote a connection and community among local artists and to inspire others to explore their own creativity. By shining a light on the work of others, Noriega hopes to create a space where all artists can feel seen, heard, and appreciated.
