Performance: Calvin Arsenia @ KEMPER
February 28, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art
Calvin Arsenia is a Kansas City-based, internationally-acclaimed musician and performance artist most known for his elaborate and ceremonious sensory concert experiences. Self-accompanied on the Celtic harp, Arsenia draws from multiple musical disciplines (jazz, classical, folk, soul, electronic music) to construct a whimsical world where sacred and sacrilege are equal.
This event is free and open to the public.
5:00 p.m. cash bar, 6:00 p.m. program
Beginning with his first full length release, Catastrophe, and the follow up, Cantaloupe, Arsenia’s recordings feature his dynamic yet sensitive voice diligently searching for the silver lining of interpersonal hardships from the perspective of a multi-racial queer millennial male raised in the Bible Belt.
Arsenia believes that live music has the power to unite and heal people unlike any other art form. Step into his magical world and take a look around the mind of this ambitious creative.
