As part of our commitment to making contemporary art a part of daily life, 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati is partnering with Visionaries and Voices to present free monthly art classes in the gallery spaces at 21c. This month’s V+V@21c class features Teaching Artist Lamar Madison. Lamar is inspired by the bright colors and vibrant identities that surround him, including celebrity, hip-hop, and pop culture. Through drawing and painting portraits, Lamar creates new ways of representing of both famous and familiar personalities, like Paul George, Sponge Bob, and T.I. In this lesson, participants will imagine themselves as musicians or singers, and design an album cover that reflects their style and personality. All materials provided.
