Join us during our Sip & Tour on Friday, September 27 at 6pm! Our Museum Manager, Michael, will lead you on a guided tour through our current exhibition while you enjoy a delicious cocktail inspired by the artwork on display.

This month’s cocktail, ‘Make New’, is inspired by the entirety of our new exhibition, ‘Revival: Digging Into Yesterday, Planting Tomorrow’. While the exhibit focuses on reviving lesser- known histories, we are focusing on revival in the sense of making something anew. The cocktail reinvents familiar childhood flavors, like strawberry and kiwi, into a sophisticated drink. Its pink hue honors Frederick Douglass and his work with 19th-century suffragists, tying into Isaac Julien’s film installation, ‘Lessons of the Hour’, featured in the our video lounge. The cocktail’s style also nods to the classic Sidecar, a drink originating in mid-1800s London.
