ArtPrize Pitch Night

free and open to the publicArtPrize, entering its sixth year, is an annual exhibition and competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan that gives away $560,000 to artists by jury and public vote. Each year, work by more than 1,500 artists from around the world is viewed by more than 400,000 people. Any artist can enter, but Pitch Night Cincinnati is designed to give Cincinnati-area artists a boost.
New for 2014, ArtPrize is partnering with 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati to help fund an ambitious project by a Cincinnati-area artist for a prominent ArtPrize venue. Artists will create proposals for an installation on Louis Campau Promenade, in the center of ArtPrize. ArtPrize takes place in Grand Rapids, Michigan from September 24 to October 12.
On THUR 05.22.2014 21c will host Pitch Night Cincinnati, a fast-paced, fun, and fascinating night of sharing big ideas. Five artists will present short pitches, five minutes and five slides each, detailing what they’d like to install on highly trafficked pedestrian walk in the center of ArtPrize. Following the presentations, a jury of 5 art professionals, including 21c Museum Director Alice Gray Stites, will lead a combined Q&A session with all five artists and the audience. After a short recess to deliberate, the jury will announce the winner of the $5,000 grant to realize their project for ArtPrize. Doors open at 6pm, event begins at 7pm.
