Filmography: “Trash Dance”

March 17, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

free and open to the public

Art goes to the movies with 21c Oklahoma City’s Filmography, a free monthly film series at 21c Oklahoma City in partnership with deadCenter Film and the OKC Film Society. Filmography takes place on the third Friday of each month.

In March, join us for a screening of Trash Dance, a documentary by Andrew Garrison who follows choreographer Allison Orr as she finds beauty and grace in garbage trucks and in the unseen men and women who pick up our trash. Orr rides along side Austin sanitation workers on their daily routes to observe and later convince them to perform a most unlikely spectacle. Orr finds beauty and grace in garbage tucks and in the unseen men and women who pick up our trash. On an abandoned airport runway, two dozen trash collectors and their trucks deliver — for one night only — a stunningly beautiful and moving performance, in front of an audience of thousands, who are awed to discover how in the world a garbage truck can “dance.”

Event is free and open to the public
