Art goes to the movies with 21c Oklahoma City’s Filmography, a free monthly film series at 21c Oklahoma City in partnership with deadCenter Film and the OKC Film Society. Filmography takes place on the third Friday of each month.

Join us in July for a screening of Nicholas Winding Refn’s experimental noir, “Only God Forgives”. Shocking and divisive upon its release, Refn’s follow up to “Drive” is a stylish and violent neo-noir that keeps its audience at arms-length. This 2013 release follows Julian (Ryan Gosling) a drug smuggler in Thailand as he sets out the avenge the death of his brother at the behest of his mother (Kristin Scott Thomas). However, the man responsible is more force-of-nature than man. Refn’s visuals and misdirection create a visceral fable of near biblical proportions.
