ABOUT WHITEOUT
From October 2018 to March 2019, Oklahoma Contemporary will partner with Madison Square Park Conservancy to bring Erwin Redl’s installation Whiteout to Campbell Art Park, at NW 11th and Broadway. Whiteout prompts introspection into our routine and often unconscious attachments to light. The installation is a grid of suspended white bulbs that transforms its natural environment into a dynamic light field, examining the ways in which color, duration, movement and darkness affect human response. Whiteout encourages visitors to observe how time of day and weather alter the experience while considering light, perception and atmosphere from a new perspective.
