Paris Burris presents The Children’s Hour March 25th | 7:30-9:30pm
Paris Burris is a Chickasaw and Choctaw screenwriter and filmmaker in Oklahoma City. She launched her professional writing career after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 2016. After some years in the field telling stories of harsh realities, she realized her true passion as a storyteller was in telling stories of fictional realities. Now, she makes independent films with her friends, and is an unabashed cinephile who loves discovering and sharing underseen films.
Based on the play by Lillian Hellman, The Children’s Hour is about a private school for young girls which is scandalized when one spiteful student, Mary Tilford, accuses the two young women who run the school of having a lesbian relationship.
