Presented in partnership with deadCenter Film, we’re sharing the programming love with six creatives composed of film programmers and enthusiasts. Running from February to July, the deadCenter Programming Series focuses on Oklahoma-based women and non-binary programmers and highlights their selected films in the Video Lounge at #21cOKC.

Lisa Broad, Film Programmer, Oklahoma City Museum of Art
Lisa Broad joined the Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s Film Program in 2017 and has served as Head of Film Programming and Theatrical Operations since April 2020. She is responsible for creating and promoting a schedule of international, independent, and classic films for the Museum’s Noble Theater and Virtual Cinema. She also oversees programming for the OKCMOA Film Society.
Growing up in Western Nebraska, Lisa discovered her love of film while working at her small town’s movie theater and drive-in as a teenager. She earned her Ph.D. in cinema studies from New York University, where she received the 2017 Jay Leyda Award for Academic Excellence. Her dissertation research focused on the relationship between film and the philosophical notion of possible worlds. In addition to teaching graduate and undergraduate courses on film style and contemporary international cinema, she has published and presented on the French film, Hitchcock and philosophy, and theories of cinematic realism.
