Executive Chef Levon Wallace to Attend James Beard Foundation Impact Program

On January 29th and 30th, 2017, executive chef Levon Wallace will join the James Beard Foundation and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) for a local advocacy training in Nashville focusing on food waste reduction. This special event is part of JBF’s broader Impact Programs, which seek to engage the culinary community in the ongoing process of creating a more sustainable food world that provides nutritious and delicious food for all. 

The training will include an introduction to why chefs matter, a briefing on effective food policy, an overview of local food waste reduction efforts, and education on the various tools and resources that are available to chefs within the Nashville chef community. In partnership with NRDC, the James Beard Foundation will also launch a pledge to engage Nashville chefs in the fight against food waste.
