Danze de la Vida (Second Floor)
Denise Duong’s mural Off the Deep End spans both walls of the exhibition, providing an imaginative space for her characters to inhabit. Four Dancing Swimmers loop and drift down from the ceiling, suspended in the air and silhouetted against the building’s windows. On the wall amongst the mural’s black and white lines, five paintings appear like picture windows, each depicting different landscapes and detailed, disembodied heads. In her exhibition Danze de la Vida,” Duong creates a world that is unexpected and inviting, welcoming viewers to a never-ending fairytale filled with familiar yet untold stories.
