Ned Kahn (American), Aeolian Landscape, 2005. Mixed media.
Both functional and fantastical, Ned Kahn’s black table sculpture features a desert landscape formed by millions of swirling glass beads, whose shape and pattern are in constant, mesmerizing flux. The title is derived from Aeolus, ancient Greek god of the winds. Viewers can observe how the landscape reshapes itself over time.
