Your Guide to Louisville

Here are a list of open local attractions you must visit!

We are thrilled to welcome you back to travel! As you prepare to hit the road for your next adventure, you’ll find the world a little different from what you remember, but don’t worry, we’ve put together a list of our favorite local spots to help ease all of your planning woes. Here’s our guide to the Louisville community for your upcoming visit…

Start your day the right way with a cup of coffee (and a chocolate chip cookie… trust us) from Please & Thank You. Prefer something a little more savory? Then you need to stop by Boujie Biscuit for the best biscuits & gravy in town. Or take your little ones to SuperChefs for a brunch fit for superheroes.

Looking for an outdoor adventure? In Louisville, you don’t have to go far to experience all that nature has to offer. Located just 2.5 miles from the hotel is the newly opened Waterfront Botanical Gardens (open Sat-Sun 12-3pm). See what’s in bloom and learn about sustainability from our local gardening community. Travel a little further and you’ll find the Parklands of Floyds Fork with miles of trails and creeks perfect for hiking, biking and kayaking. Or live like a local and enjoy a leisurely walk through Cherokee Park.

Have you worked up an appetite? After you’ve enjoyed a locally sourced meal prepared by Kentucky-native Jonathan Searle of Proof on Main (open for dinner Sun-Wed 5-9pm and Thurs-Sat 5-10pm), check out Louisville’s authentic Mayan restaurant, Mayan Cafe, or make a reservation at Louisville’s fine dining staple, Jack Fry’s. Enjoy craft cocktails and woodfire pizzas at Garage Bar, a former auto service garage. Many of our local Louisville restaurants are in the early stages of reopening, but you can still support the local food scene by ordering carry out or curbside. Here are a few of our favorite restaurants offering take out: Butchertown Grocery, Bar Vetti, Decca and Red Hog. Grab to-go and enjoy a picnic at Louisville Waterfront Park! Compliment your local cuisine with a bottle of wine from Nouvelle or a growler from Gravely Brewing Co.

Now, how about some bourbon? After all, you are in Kentucky. Explore the countryside and visit Buffalo Trace for a guided tour. Some of our local distilleries are still in the process of reopening their doors to the public – stay up to date on re-openings with this resource from the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Can’t find what you are looking for, head down to the Lockbox bar for a flight with one of our expert bartenders. Afterwards, visit our gift shop and take home a bottle of our exclusive private barrel 21c Selects.

Last, but not least, be sure to take home a little piece of our city with a local artwork from Revelry Boutique Gallery in the NULU neighborhood or a homemade cookie from Louisville legend Elizabeth Kizito of Kizito Cookies & Crafts.
