Anastasia Taylor-Lind is an English/Swedish photojournalist who has spent more than a decade creating long-form narrative global reportage on issues relating to women, violence, and war. She is a 2016 Harvard Nieman Fellow, a TED Fellow, and a contributor to National Geographic Magazine. Taylor-Lind regularly comments on the complexities of visualizing mass violence in the media, and is working on a book about the way we tell contemporary war stories. Her first monograph MAIDAN – Portraits from the Black Square, which documents the 2014 Ukrainian uprising in Kiev, was published by GOST books the same year.

Special thanks to our partners at the UNC-CH Department of Art & Art History for helping make this lecture possible.

Spotlight: Anastasia Taylor-Lind is presented as part of Click! Photography Festival. During the month of October 2018, Click! brings together exhibitions and programming which fosters dialogue between photographers and community members in hopes of inspiring artistic excellence, supporting professional development and promoting community engagement.
