21c and Proof On Main celebrate Bourbon Heritage Month

Special Offerings For Bourbon Enthusiasts Throughout the Month of September

PRESS RELEASE – 21c Museum Hotel and Proof on Main will celebrate Bourbon Heritage Month throughout the month of September, offering unique Bourbon experiences including a Bourbon infused hotel stay and the opportunity to dine with some of Kentucky’s most well-known distillers.

The “Just Add Bourbon” Package offers 21c hotel guests an opportunity to soak up Louisville’s Bourbon scene. The package includes a one night stay, two cocktails at the Proof on Main bar, passports to Louisville’s Urban Bourbon Trail, and breakfast for two at Proof on Main. Reservations can be made by calling 502.217.6300 or visiting 21clouisville.com/packages.

Proof on Main, a founding member of the Urban Bourbon Trail, will host two dinners allowing diners to get up close and personal with the people behind the Bourbon. The first with Master Distiller Chris Morris of Woodford Reserve will take place on September 6, and the second with Buffalo Trace’s Lead Chemist Drew Mayville on September 27. The dinners will be limited to 24 people and will be held in Proof’s private dining room. Executive chef Levon Wallace will create a three course menu for each event paired with the distilleries’ Bourbons. Events begin at 7:00 pm with an opening reception of hors d’oeuvre and a special cocktail. Tickets are $85 and can be reserved by calling 502.217.6360.

During the entire month of September, Proof on Main will also feature an all Bourbon cocktail menu. Cocktails will feature fresh ingredients and house made syrups and bitters and will include classics as well as Proof’s own twist on traditional Bourbon libations.

About 21c Museum Hotels
21c Museum Hotel was founded in Louisville, Kentucky in 2006 by preservationists and contemporary art collectors Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson. The project supports both their desire to preserve beautiful Kentucky farmland through revitalization efforts in downtown Louisville and their vision for making contemporary art a part of more people’s daily lives. The couple tapped architect Deborah Berke to convert a series of 19th century tobacco and Bourbon warehouses into a contemporary art museum with 9,000 square feet of exhibition space, a 90 room boutique hotel, and a restaurant and bar, Proof on Main. As North America’s first museum devoted solely to the art of living artists, 21c Museum Hotel features a rotating program of curated exhibitions as well as site-specific, commissioned installations.  21c has garnered praise from many notable publications including Travel + Leisure, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, W, and Condé Nast Traveler, whose readers voted 21c among the top 10 hotels in the world in the annual Readers’ Choice Survey in 2009, 2010 and 2011. With the critical and financial success of the Louisville property and after having been approached by local partners interested in having a 21c Museum Hotel in their community, 21c Museum Hotels was formed in 2007 to oversee the development and management of 21c Museum Hotel properties in new markets.  Hotels are under construction in Cincinnati, OH (opening the fourth quarter of 2012) and Bentonville, AR (opening the first quarter of 2013) and under development in Lexington, KY.  The company plans to develop 15 properties over the next five to ten years.
