A thunderstorm rages in Manhattan as Thomas Novachek, a theatre director desperate to find the perfect actress to play Vanda, the female lead in his adaptation of the classic sadomasochistic novel, Venus in Fur is wrapping up his failed auditions. In walks an actress, very late and soaked to the bone, coincidentally also named Vanda, who is equally desperate to book the role. She wows and titillates him with her unexpected familiarity with his script and begins to demonstrate a strange seduction — a game of cat and mouse — which blurs the line between fantasy and reality.

This Tony award-winning play by David Ives was named one of the “year’s best” plays of 2012 by more than a dozen publications and called “a delicious, suspense-packed study of the erotics of power” by The New York Times. The play will run 90 minutes and is FREE with a suggested donation of $3. Recommended for adults as it contains sexual situations and language.
